An artist couple commissioned the house. The location, as well as its forms, reflect both their vision of nature and of art. Because of the regular occurrence of earthquakes in this area, the design is based on structurally independent elements. The walls consist of centrifugally placed, washed concrete sections; the floors are of native desert rock. The resulting mass forms a thermal buffer, the size of which ensures a stable internal climate during the extreme summer heat and winter cold.

The design originates in related natural elements, flexible elements, which mutually re-enforce each other and have a stabilizing effect. The result is that in its outward appearance, the independent roof elements resemble the primary wing feathers of a bird, which is why it is called Wing Sweep.
