Henry Whiting owned a house in Bliss, Idaho, which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. He wanted to build a holiday house near Sun Valley, which he would later be able to sell. In particular, it was to reflect the atmosphere of the surrounding landscape.

The elongated form of the house is stretched out over the landscape. This enables a division into private rooms and guest accommodation. Both areas offer their own, spectacular view of the valley and the distant mountains. The living area marks the center of the house and is located in an elevated position above the garages. A ramp leads from outside to an enclosed entrance area, turns left and opens out into the tall living room, which is lit through the vaulted roof. The roof is constructed of interlaced, laminated beams.
